Dear NMCAN Community,
I am writing to let you know that I have made the hard decision to temporarily step away from my duties as Executive Director. As we all know, the last two years have been a truly exhausting and difficult time. We have all been tested in so many ways both personally and professionally, and if nothing else, I am grateful for what it has taught us about the strength of community and the necessity of prioritizing our health and wellness. While I take some time to tend to my health and wellbeing, I have full faith that the NMCAN team can and will continue to carry our work forward.
During my absence, Lorilynn Violanta will be serving as Acting Executive Director with the full support of our board and staff.
I feel humbled and grateful to have the opportunity to step away so that I can come back and lead such a dynamic organization with the energy and creativity it demands, and I know Lorilynn will do a great job in my absence. Please continue to support the NMCAN team during this time, and please, make sure that you are taking care of yourselves. Our collective health and wellbeing is the key to having a thriving and supportive community that supports young people in creating change.
Stay Well,
Ezra Spitzer
