This past summer, NMCAN supported young people to build community and
lead positive changes in the systems designed to serve them. In partnership
with Cottonwood Gulch Expeditions, we hiked in the Sandias and along the
Bosque to create safe spaces for healing and strengthening relationships among
young people and peers. Youth Leaders presented to New Mexico’s Legislative
Health and Human Services Interim Committee to raise awareness about the
important differences between poverty and neglect.
NMCAN is committed to shifting how systems interact with young people and creating innovative systems of support that promote conditions for young people and families to thrive. Please join us on Tuesday, October 22nd, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for NMCAN’s Fall Dinner. You’ll have the chance to connect with young people and learn about our priorities for the next year. Join us for a meal and conversation to learn more about our work! – Co-Executive Director Ezra Spitzer and Lorilynn Violanta, ezra.spitzer@nmcan.org | lorilynn.violanta@nmcan.org
